Wednesday, February 11 writing your own tabloid article

Writing your own tabloid article

Due Thursday, February 12.
We'll share out on Friday.

length: about 250 words
include: photo
headline with your name as the
         byline
         strap line (subheading)

Subject matter: choose a mythological, folk, fairy tale, nursery rhyme characters. No real people. Do a bit of research if you need to.

Basic journalism writing: you have a lead sentence, addressing the who, what, when, where and how.

 You will have quotes.

 Write in active voice only.

But, as this is a tabloid, contractions, slang, jargon and biases may be included.

Again, remember that this is still a news article, not an essay. If you are unsure of how the paragraphs should be organized, please review by looking at a couple of tabloid articles.
